It was *turtle time* for the Pint-Sized Picassos on Friday afternoon!

What is cuter than a clay turtle made by a pint sized Picasso? 

... a picture of their little hands holding the clay turtle!!!

What was the funniest question asked by a pint-sized Picasso today???

"Teacher,    ...when I get home,  can I destroy this turtle?"

Apparently he has other creative ideas for his clay!

Sydney and I worked with clay for our lesson this week and she wanted to make a mermaid.

Lesson with Ty and Hadley - August 16th

were the subject today!

Ty brought his sister Hadley to class for some art fun!

It was a *My Garden* Birthday Party For Tyler!!!

 

Tyler loves flowers and birds so we made sure

we did artwork that had flowers and birds in it!

We went on a treasure hunt through the book, My Garden by Kevin Henkes!  First we decorated

a treasure box and then the kids filled it with the items we found on our hunt.   We found

sea shells, keys, buttons, strawberries, umbrellas, flowers, wings and other fun things!

What a fun day we had at the art museum...

The big hit of the day was a hands on exhibit called ~Marvelous Mud~!  The girls put on aprons and tried out the pottery wheel, SO FUN!!!  
Then Mitch, the girls and myself sat at the art tables and made whatever we could dream up with a ball of clay!  In our group we made the following:  a pretzel, strawberries, a puffer fish, a piggy, a living room scene, a dragon, and a chain link.

  It was fun getting messy and being creative!  We even got to take home our creations!

We found the art of Monet and Matisse and the girls found the time to play dress up and act silly!
