Creative Kids (Girls)
We had so much fun reading poems about our art subject...... RAIN!!!
I think the girls' favorite poem was ~
Raindrops
Raindrops are such funny things.
They haven't feet or haven't wings.
Yet they sail throughout the air
With the greatest of ease,
And dance on the street
Wherever they please.
The girls worked on watercolor - collages... and added a special poem to each of their art pieces!
For art history we spent some time talking about "Jackson Pollock" and his splattering style of painting.
The girls produced such GREAT art... I'm proud of them!
I'm still having problems with some of the images flipping sideways... I'll try to post the rest of the art later!
Pint-Sized Picasso's (Sat. 23rd)
The teddy bear picnic was a big hit with our little Pint-Sized Picasso's!
Our big art project for the day was chalk on black paper. We read about Peanut the monkey and made a beautiful branch for Peanut to hang out on with plenty of friends and flowers too!
We also painted little wooden teddy bears after our teddy bear picnic... and THEN we drew and painted Easter baskets!
WOW! These may be Pint-Sized Picasso's but there's nothing pint sized about the amount of art we can fit into a 2 hour class! : )

Helping Out At The Elementary School
Kaleigh's teacher asked me to come in and give an art lesson to the 3rd grade kiddos. They had written poems and wanted to add art work as the finishing touch!
I worked with 2 classes... sitting on the floor with my palette and paper, surrounded by the cutest 8 and 9 year olds!
We drew and painted palm trees... the ocean... sandy beaches... dolphins... sea shells... flowers... mountains... raindrops... waterfalls... camp sites... cherry blossom trees... oak trees... eagles... cactus... and even football players and baseball players!!! : )
What a GREAT time!

The girls were ready for art this morning and we made the most out of our time! First we read "Mermaid Sister" and then painted mermaids. We also read "If You Give A Moose A Muffin" then of course we ate muffins and then drew muffins! We also drew tree houses, and made Mother's Day cards.

The "Creative Kids" class was fun today! We put a different spin on the Monet inspired paintings by adding our little artists to the picture! The kids had fun with this... and so did the teacher!!!

Did you catch up on your reading over spring break??
In adult class this week we painted books!
We painted late into the evening... and none of us had the chance to add titles to our books! We all have a little homework to do!
I apologize for the flipped photos... I'm not sure how to resolve this problem!
Art work by Kristin, Vineet, Erin, Phil and Denise
