Lesson with Sydney and Alaina

We studied the artwork of
Henri Matisse!

The artwork that we did today was their interpretation of the painting by Matisse called,  "The Fish Bowl"

Alaina and Sydney thought a cat would fit perfectly into their paintings!

So, instead of "The Fish Bowl"...  we could call their artwork-
"Snack Time"

After we finished our first piece of art, we did scissor art... Matisse style!!!

It was a fun class!

Ty and Hadley

We finished painting these owls and then made more clay owls to paint for next time!

Here are Ty and Hadley's owls...
hanging out with their other owl pals!

Mini Monet

3 year old Farrah came to class
and
we did
~LION ART~

Farrah drew and painted everything herself!
Super Cute, huh?

We read the book, "To Be Like The Sun", by Susan Marie Swanson, and then we did a collage
sunflower picture.
Farrah noticed how similar the lion (with his mane) and a sunflower are!

An Artist Of My Very Own...

I love watching my son draw!

Wherever he goes he has his sketch book, pencil and eraser with him!

This is a work in progress...
I love finished pieces... but I also LOVE seeing the different stages of
a piece of art!
I love that I came upon this and enjoyed seeing it unfinished with the pencil and
eraser sitting there just waiting for the rest of the picture to be drawn!

More Owls...

I had two more classes of
clay art this week!

These little owls are my super favorite thing this month!

So cute...  and fun to make!

Girls Night Out - Poppies

A fun group of gals came out for a painting party this past weekend.

The painting subject of the day...  POPPIES!

Class Demo

Tween - Queen of Hearts

We did - Queen of Hearts - ART!!!
And the 52 reasons deck of cards...
for our deck we did 52 ways to turn a frown
UPSIDE
DOWN!

Here of some of ways this class chose...

Of course there are a lot more I could share...
the girls were very creative!

Owl Painting Party

The girls enjoyed painting their clay creations!
They did a great job!

Lesson With Sydney

Today our art lesson was about using our imagination in our drawings and paintings.
We explored the artwork of Picasso and talked a lot about his - Maya With Doll - painting.
In Picasso's picture you can see a profile view and a front view of the little girls face.
We talked about all the shapes in the painting too.
We drew our picture from a magazine photo of a little ballerina and focused on drawing all the shapes that we saw in the picture first.
We traced our drawing with sharpie and added more details and had a good time making up a story to go
along with our pictures.
Everything you can imagine is real.  Pablo Picasso

Ty and Hadley

We had a fun class!

It was Valentine's Day on the day of our lesson, so we did two Valentine projects!

Hand held heart art and a mixed media flower bouquet!
