project for the month of March was a
DOODLE FLOWER
 on canvas.

Dragon, Unicorn and Castle Art Projects

The Wednesday Pint-Sized Picasso class worked
on Castle, Dragon and Unicorn artwork.

These fun art projects were inspired by a wonderful art blog called, Art Projects For Kids!

I love researching art...
looking at books at the library,
looking at art blogs,
using my imagination,
hunting down fun ideas on the Internet...
all of these things help me come up with a fun
art schedule each month.
The research and planning is almost as fun as the art itself.

I love what I do!!!

For our castle picture we first painted our background with tempera paint.
We drew our castle with white oil pastel on black construction paper next.  We cut the castle out and then painted it with square shaped sponges and grey paint.
After the castle finished drying we glued our castle to the background painted paper!

Our mythical creatures were drawn using a template for the head.  After drawing the rest of the dragon and it's features we outlined and colored with oil pastel.

Flower Art Project

I call this project

"Layers"

The girls did a great job with this oil pastel, sharpie and tempera paint project!
