Outer Space

The boys worked hard on their outer space artwork!  Our main project was inspired by the artwork of Gregory Rudd and his "History of the American Flag" series for USPS postcards.

We also did chalk art of the solar system!

Today we had 9 girls in the Pint-Sized Picasso class...  my biggest class yet!!!  These girls all helped Victoria celebrate her birthday with the theme of Frogs and Flowers...

She chose the book, "The Frog Prince" and we drew and painted frogs.  We also painted flowers...  and then outlined them with black oil pastels.

The artwork turned out absolutely beautiful!!!  Don't you agree?

Mitch's art work was selected to be part of an art show!

Way to go, Mitch!!!  A celebratory noogie from Dad!

Creative Kids and Pint-Sized Picasso's on Georgia O'Keeffe

We had a great time in art class this weekend.  The girls were all about FLOWERS!!!  The CK class Friday evening painted giant flowers on canvas and the P-S Picasso's painted with watercolor.

The girls learned about Georgia O'Keeffe and discovered that she started painting flowers at age 30 and that by age 98 she had painted over 200 flower paintings.  Her flower paintings were so huge that it made people feel like human butterflies when they stood in front of her canvases.
